George Ralston Rotary Golf Classic - Sept 24 Rotary Golf Classic The Rotary of Wilkes-Barre's 26th Annual "George Ralston Golf Classic," benefits Children's Programs at the Osterhout Free Library. This year's event will be held on Friday September 24, 2010 at Mill Race Golf Course in Benton, PA.  Entry fee is $100 which includes 18 holes of Golf, Golf Cart, Lunch, Steak Dinner and Prizes!  To register, contact Chris Kelly at the Osterhout Library at 570-823-0156 ext 218 or email ckelly@osterhout.lib.pa.us About George Ralston:  The Wilkes-Barre Rotary Golf Classic is named after our good and honorable friend George Ralston.  If you ever met George, you would never forget the occasion.  He would look you straight in the eye, grab your hand firmly, smile broadly and say he was mighty glad to meet you and you knew he meant it.  He was tireless, cheerful and hard working.  Over five decades, George was many things to Wilkes College (now Wilkes University).  Teacher, Dean of Students, football coach, basketball coach, baseball coach and personal cheerleader to one and all, on and off campus.  George never gave up and wouldn't let others give up either.  Even though George sadly left us in 2007, the Ralston spirit is still very much alive in the Rotary Club of Wilkes-Barre and we're proud to name this tournament in his honor.
